My soul is notoriously restless, frequently summoning me from some deep and holy place within, sometimes with a gentle nudge and other times by arousing discontent through complete upheaval. For as long as I can remember I have been grappling with sacred questions, refusing to settle for superficial discontentment. 

Although for a long time I believed that something outside of myself would guide me home, the voice I was most longing to hear was my own. When I invited sound, movement, writing, visual art, and breath to hold my heart, an unexpected doorway to love opened.       I began to hear my authentic voice and receive powerful messages and heart prayers.

Perhaps it is my own personal longing, that restless feeling that something is missing and that women need to come together (to-get-her), to remember, to heal, to reclaim and embody the feminine values that have been dismissed and invalidated that has prompted my desire to create Silvercrest. 

In her amazing book, Belonging: Remembering Ourselves Home, Toko-pa Turner (2017) offers this reminder:

The feminine is in direct conversation with that which joins all living beings. It is the mystical path that turns us to our own senses, and the living world around us for guidance and collaboration. We need no mediating authority to grant us permission or tell us how to heal or bring life into the world, because there is a greater authority, a vital impulse, which is flowing through each of us at all times...The feminine values the intelligence of our feelings; recognizes the need of ceremony and the rites of passage; teaches the power of listening and being witnessed; holds the significance of inutition and dreams; it is sensitivity itself, vulnerability, and it honors the body's wisdom (pp. 60-61)
